Actor Julianne Moore says she is surprised that schools overseen by the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) have apparently decided to pull her children’s book,

Oscar winner Julianne Moore claims her children’s book “Freckleface Strawberry” was banned by the Department of Defense’s Education Activity, a global network of 160 schools serving military families.

Moore's 2007 coming-of-age book, "Freckleface Strawberry," is among “a small number” of books being kept for “further review," according to a Department of Defense memo.

"I can’t help but wonder what is so controversial about this picture book that cause it to be banned by the US Government."
