The Kansas City Chiefs lost more ground in their pursuit of a tenth consecutive AFC West division title. This week's 'Thursday Night Football' game featured the division-leading Denver Broncos defeating the Las Vegas Raiders 10-7 and improving their record to 8-2.
Denver (7-2) also owns one of the NFL's best defenses, headlined by pass rushing aces Nik Bonitto and Jonathon Cooper. Bonitto has eight sacks this season, and Cooper has seven. Overall, the Broncos are allowing the third-fewest yards per game this season.
The Denver Broncos recorded six sacks, blocked a punt and pulled in an interception to propel a tight AFC West division win over the Las Vegas Raiders.
The Broncos and Raiders are at opposite ends of the AFC West. Denver extended it's lead in the division with a win on "Thursday Night Football".
Denver's defense bailed out the Broncos in a 10-7 squeaker over the reeling Las Vegas Raiders on Thursday night, sacking Geno Smith six times to atone for spotty performances on offense and special teams. The Broncos (8-2) own the league's best record, but they didn't look anything like it on a windy night in the Rocky Mountains.
The Denver Broncos are generating a significant amount of excitement with the announcement of a potential new stadium that could be built by the beginning of the 2031 NFL season. The new arena is poised to have a retractable roof and a mixed-use area, all privately funded, at no cost to the Colorado taxpayer.
The Broncos’ defense, however, thinks this pattern is sustainable. “We all know what we’re capable of,” outside linebacker Dondrea Tillman told The Denver Post. “We know what type of defense we have. And we can stop anybody, really, when we’re playing the right way. “So, we put the pressure on our back.”
The Las Vegas Raiders and Denver Broncos put on a nearly unwatchable game in prime time. And Denver was slightly less hideous.
