Chad Tracy gave his starting pitchers a quick hook in both games of this week’s Wild Card Series, and the decision to pull Sonny Gray after 70 pitches wasn’t well received by many of the Red Sox players.
Tracy said “of course” the Red Sox considered Romy Gonzalez for the final positional roster spot after he spent almost all of August and September in Worcester. “He is still a little banged up, too,” Tracy said about Gonzalez. “I’m still hopeful. We’re in round one of four.”
The Boston Red Sox have promoted Chad Tracy as their full-time manager after he led them to a playoff spot.
The Boston Red Sox have named Chad Tracy as their 49th manager, removing his interim tag. The team announced that Tracy has signed a three-year contract through the 2029 season, with a club option for 2030.
Chad Tracy is not a popular man in Boston right now. The Boston Red Sox opened up their best-of-three AL Wild Card series against the hated rival New York Yankees on Tuesday.
