Mikel Arteta urged Arsenal fans to eradicate "hatred" after Michael Oliver received threats following a controversial red card to Myles Lewis-Skelly.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta was pleased that Myles Lewis-Skelly 's red card was rescinded but criticised the abuse aimed at referee Michael Oliver by fans. The 18-year-old Lewis-Skelly has escaped a three-match suspension after the FA overturned Oliver's decision to send him off in Saturday's 1-0 win at Wolves.

Skelly’s knee injury is “nothing serious” and a late call will be made on his and William Saliba’s availability for Arsenal’s trip to Wolverhampton Wanderers this Saturday. Lewis-Skelly picked up the injury during Arsenal’s 2-2 draw against Aston Villa on January 17 but played the entire match.

Mikel Arteta opted against waking Myles Lewis-Skelly up to tell him his red card had been overturned, but he is confident the Arsenal teenager will have a “big smile on his face”. Lewis-Skelly was facing a three-match ban after he was controversially sent-off against Wolves for tripping Matt Doherty to stop a counter.

It's crunch time in the January transfer window. Now, Mikel Arteta must lock in his final decisions of which Arsenal pieces to move across the board. The window officially closes on Monday, February 3 and - as of right now - Arsenal are yet to conduct any business.
