The Android operating system, currently installed on billions of devices across the globe, is receiving some significant security enhancements.

The upcoming mobile OS expands on the assertive fraud detection we saw at last year's I/O, including device-level Advanced Protection mode and a revamp for Google’s Find My network.

Google is currently working on Android 16. In Android 16, the company is adding a strong and advanced security layer to make the security of mobile devices and Google accounts more robust. Google has given information about this security layer in its Android Show: I/O Edition event.
