How safe is the area around the theater? With the 2 shootings yesterday, (mass shooting yesterday (only 1 1/2 blocks away) and an office involved shooting nearby), TV coverage indicated it has a steady ruling of drug deals, crime and gang violence. I have tickets to a show but going even from parking to theater sounds risky.

It is not risky. Shootings, crime, drug deals etc... happen anywhere and everywhere, probably even closer to your own home than you may think. I’ve grown up in Seattle, spent many late nights downtown, never had a problem. Be aware of your surroundings, as you should be anywhere and you’ll be fine.
